About ✦ mundo.abstraktoTattooing becomes a meditative experience. More than a brand or a project, mundo.abstrakto is a living studio where every process invites transformation.
I have devoted much of my life to exploring one question: what does it mean to fully inhabit a body and a life?
That path has taken me through universities, monasteries and different traditions of knowledge. I have studied psychology, philosophy and ethics from the Western lens, and immersed myself in meditation, Eastern medicine, Taoism, tantra, yoga and conscious movement with the body.
This is how mundo.abstrakto is born: a space where the body becomes a portal, pain becomes ritual and skin becomes sacred memory.
I grew up amid the vastness of the Andes, the cloud forests and a biodiversity that seems endless.
There I learned that nature never repeats a form. That every texture, every leaf, every rock and every stream holds its own language.
Perhaps that's why, wherever I go, I always return to the same question: what is it trying to say, that which we don't yet know how to hear?
mundo.abstrakto was born in Bogotá, out of a fascination with traditional tattooing: solid lines, strong contrast, and the craft of learning to work on skin.
After the pandemic, the path took the studio to Montreal. A new country, a new culture. While studying psychology and philosophy, the question stopped being what to draw and became how to create a transformative experience.
The journey continued through Asia. Buddhist monasteries, Taoist traditions, yoga, meditation and Eastern medicine widened the way of understanding the body. Silence began to take the place of words; the forms grew freer.
Every path ends by returning to its origin. A nomadic temple that travels between cities, walking alongside those who feel a tattoo can be far more than an image or a trend.
